On Friday, 27 February 2026, Threads for Ikasi Foundation, in partnership with the Transnet Foundation, hosted a moving school uniform handover at Inxiweni Primary School in Tembisa. As part of the 1000 Uniforms Initiative, 50 full school uniforms were distributed to learners, symbolising dignity, confidence and equal access to education.

Honouring Lives and Legacy
The handover was dedicated to the memories of Principal Ruth Nozibele Tabu and Ms Nobantu Njomboni (Admin Clerk), whose leadership and care deeply impacted the Inxiweni school community. Attendees were reminded that a full school uniform is more than clothing, it is a powerful tool for restoring pride and ensuring every child feels welcome and ready to learn.

This meaningful event was made possible through the generous sponsorship and partnership with the Transnet Foundation. Together, Threads for Ikasi Foundation and the Transnet Foundation continue to invest in the futures of young learners by helping remove barriers that can hinder school attendance and participation.

Impact Beyond the Handover
For many learners, receiving a full school uniform means entering the classroom with confidence and dignity. These uniforms support a welcoming learning environment and help reduce inequality by ensuring that no child is held back due to lack of proper school attire.
What's Next
The 1000 Uniforms Initiative continues to roll out across our communities, with the next handover scheduled for 6 March 2026 at Tshepisa Primary School, where another 50 full school uniforms will be gifted in honour of the late Mr Kekana.
